Update: Congressman Tim Ryan to speak at Clermont Dinner!

Hello everyone! Shortly after I posted my request on 3/18, I was contacted by Tim Ryan's communications director, Brad Bauman. He told me that Congressman Ryan was interested in speaking at our Golden Donkey Dinner. This was finally confirmed last week and we are thrilled! I met Tim Ryan at a Paul Hackett fundraiser in 2005 and I look forward to hearing him speak at our event.

Thanks again, BSB! (And thanks, Bill O'Neil. I just now saw your message)

How About Judge Sikora?

I know I'm a bit late, but let me add a few cents. Judge Peter Sikora is on his third run for the Supreme Court of Ohio...and he is a great speaker. We all have to remember that Judge Sikora and Judge Russo will be outspent by the Republicans in these races...again...but local parties can make a big difference in showcasing Sikora and Russo. I know Peter is more than willing to travel...he has done it before. Good Luck Clermont County. And yes, this is me. Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated. Bill Oneill

I will wait for confirmation to say for sure, but it looks like we may have our speaker! I'll fill you in on the details when I get the go-ahead.

Thanks BSB, for all your help. The response has been great!

After all he is one of the most sought after public speakers in the legistlature according to himself! He could surely offer some kind of campaign finance seminar, if not how to pay yourself with your campaign committee like he has been doing.

How about current Franklin

How about current Franklin County Board of Elections Commissioner Denny White ... he is the former Ohio Dem chair and gives great speeches. I've sat at his table at fundraisers many times and he's witty, humorous, and has vast amounts of experience. I've also sat with Mayor Coleman twice at fundraisers and have to wonder how he got to be mayor ... his handlers maybe?

Help! ISO Guest Speaker for 4/19 Clermont Dems Golden Donkey Dinner

Bumped because one of our statewides should really help out the Clermont County Democratic Party. Maybe that nice Rich Cordray has an opening. Mr. Treasurer? How 'bout 'Fernsy? - Jerid

I need your help with a problem (er, an opportunity). The Clermont County Democratic Party is hosting its 41st annual Golden Donkey Dinner on April 19th and sadly, we have not found a keynote speaker for the evening.

<flattery>Since the BSB is the largest, most well-connected and best informed Democratic Blog in Ohio</flattery>, I am hoping that someone reading this either knows someone or is someone who can help us out. This person could be an elected official, an author, a celebrity--or even a Presidential candidate! (Ok, I may be overly optimistic on that last one!)

Here are the details about the event: http://www.clermontdems.org/ht/display/EventDetails/i/1128887/pid/276 . So if you know anyone, please respond to this post or send me an email at d.patek@fuse.net.

Thanks!

Debbie

P.S. As an FYI, the Clermont County Democratic Party more than doubled in size on March 4th! What was once a scarlett red county--and home to Jean Schmidt--it now a more respectable shade of purple. Just think about the implications of a "less red" Clermont county in this swing state!
