Hey Blitz, I'm glad you're keeping me on my toes with such enthusiasm! However throwing Supreme Court candidates into the discussion is not relevant.

Supreme Court candidates run on a non-partisan ballot. That means no "Democrat" after their names. I hope you made it that far down the ballot.

We know the Party has ignored and underfunded those races for over a decade and now we're paying for it. Noone helped Espy raise money. The Party didn't stand up for its endorsed candidate (A.J. Wagner) and let that fool O'Neil win the primary. He intentionally didn't raise any money and lost accordingly.

To be wrong "again" would require that I am wrong once. Keep trying, and I'll give the props when you hit a winner.

There were 2 other Democrats on the state-wide ticket who did not prevail in 2006 too: Ben Espy for Ohio Supreme Court and Judge Bill O'Neil for Ohio Supreme Court.

Dang! I had not noticed that. Or the lump on McCain's cheek no matter which side the camera tries to shoot him. Or that Hillary Clinton wears earrings and lipstick. And John Edwards has that funny little eye blink thing going on from time-to-time. Man, I have missed sooooo much. But I digress. Why is it not okay to discuss the issue of race in this campaign? It's apparently okay to discuss gender. Maybe the Governor's words were not the most effective way to communicate a point, but just because there's a fact out here that you don't like, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Yes, there are Americans who will probably not vote for Obama because of his race. And we know there are Americans who will probably not vote for Hillary Clinton because of her gender. So,why are all the Obama-ites continuing to use this crap against Hillary Clinton? I'll tell you why. Because they got a little mileage off it, and Obama likes wearing the v-chip (victim chip) on his shoulder. And if that's not the case, then why not drop it and move on to something else. If we started posting comments about all the negative crap out here about gender and women, we'd be posting till the end of time!

Look at the results from House District 5 where Strickland cleaned up on Blackwell. Unfortunately this is proof positive that some of these rural voters bailed on Ken Blackwell because of his race. The same voters kept Gilmor in office against Weirauch and then voted Latta in over Weirauch.

She was the only Democrat not to win on the state-wide ticket. What basis was there to split the ticket for State Auditor in '06? It would be interesting to see which counties accounted for the swing from Strickland,Cordray and Dann to Sykes.

Hey. Isn't part of the amazing thing about Obama that so many people who are otherwise racists have been saying across the country, "Yeah, this guy is right. I'm with him," and forgetting race while they say it? It's like the Nascar guys in the sports bars who could care less about golf, but wanted to switch channels from football to see Tiger Woods play.

If you think STJ is going to say anything about this, think again. She's pretty much brokered in political expediency since arriving in Congress.

For her I think it's about what's in it for me (re-election, the president's ear) as opposed to what's good for her district.

Rendell isn't wrong, though. There certainly are a lot of white americans who aren't going to vote for Obama just because he is black.

But they better be careful with the questions that they ask- because someone might go out and find the answer.

And once you find out how many people won't vote for a black guy- then you need to figure out how many people won't vote for a woman...

This is just stunning.

"You've got conservative whites here, and I think there are some whites who are probably not ready to vote for an African-American candidate," he said bluntly. Our eyes only met briefly, perhaps because the governor wanted to spare the only black guy in the room from feeling self-conscious for backing an obvious loser. "I believe, looking at the returns in my election, that had Lynn Swann [2006 Republican gubernatorial candidate] been the identical candidate that he was --well-spoken [note: Mr. Rendell did not call the brother "articulate"], charismatic, good-looking -- but white instead of black, instead of winning by 22 points, I would have won by 17 or so."

Some folks objected when I asked Stephanie Tubbs Jones how she feels about the never-ending litany of high profile Clinton endorsers who are engaging in this style of campaigning. Well, I want a fucking answer. Stephanie, do you really feel comfortable among this kind of talk? Honestly. I want to know. And I bet your constituents in the 11th CD want to know, too.

I guarantee you, if Ed Rendell, governor of PA, and early Clinton endorser, is back on this repugnant bandwagon, it is a matter of time before it rolls into Ohio. Matter of time.
