Kilroy's $781,000 raised is for the entire year. For the last quarter of the year she was actually outraised by Stivers $404,000 to $356,000. Plus she has spent much more than he has and she has considerable debt. Even with a significant head start, Kilroy is only about $200,000 ahead of Stivers in cash on hand.

Kilroy Kicks Stivers Ass in Money Game

Most campaigns are starting to report FEC finance numbers today. I'll have a comprehensive post on where all our Ohio Congressionals are at up by the morning, but I wanted to take a second and look at two districts where our Democratic challengers are doing amazing.

First, Mary Jo Kilroy obliterated State Senator Steve Stivers in the money game for OH-15. Reports for both campaigns are out now in this open seat, and the result ain't pretty for the banking community's fly-boy, lobbyist turned politico Steve Stivers.

Yesterday the Dispatch reported that Stivers had a decent quarter raising funds. Sure, props were props are due. Stivers raised $404,703...normally that'd be quite a chunk of change. I say normally because Franklin County Commisioner Mary Jo Kilroy's report came out today.

Her take?

Nearly $800,000...anointing her as one of the top fundraisers in the country. While Stivers $400k normally would make a candidate intimating, Mary Jo ain't havin' none of that. Stivers money is even less respectable considering the fact that over half of it's from PACS (who are going to be very surprised when they see how far ahead of Stivers MJK is). So bad news for Team Stivers all around. Expect things to only get rougher for Stivers too, as the PAC money dries up as the business community realizes Stivers is not as competitive as they once believed.

Secondly, zooming up to northern Ohio and OH-14...Bill O'Neill continues to show that OH-14 will be a competitive race. Today Bill is prepared to file a report showing he raised near $200,000, with over half of that still on hand at the close of business in 2007. Not bad for someone running against an entrenched Congressman.

To top things off, O'Neill is reporting 614 donors, more donors than all of LaTourette's Democratic challengers have raised since 2000.
