Alcoholism is pretty serious there are so many people out there who drink and don't know they need to be getting alcohol treatment. Friends don't ever open their mouths to people about this unless they joke around about it but like smoking and people telling each other to quit has become the norm telling someone to stop drinking so much should be no different.

Oh my.

Well, if you turn on the TeeVee in Cleveland right now, you'll hear a little something about Ward 3 councilman Zach Reed (affectionately dubbed "Mayor of the Warehouse District").

That's a picture of Reed's booking from his last DUI arrest back in 2005. Last night at 3am he was stopped by Cleveland's finest. I guess "stopped" isn't quite the right way to put it since he was slumped over the wheel of his vehicle while it was running, all the while his constituents were calling the cops on him and videotaping his shenanigans. City Councilman Zack Reed was charged Wednesday with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested early Wednesday morning on the city's southeast side.
Reed, 45, was found passed out in his 2002 BMW 525i at about 3 a.m. at East 139th Street and Kinsman Avenue, according to police. They said that a person directed them to Zack's car.
Police said Reed refused a field sobriety test and that's when police arrested him. He was taken to the Bratenahl Police Department for a Breathalyzer test. Reed refused that test, as well, police said.
Witnesses said they saw Reed at the Cavs game then in the Warehouse District drinking.

However, I'm sure the booking photo for this arrest isn't too much different. Afterall, he seems to have gotten this whole thing down pat by now.

Reed's got a problem. Alcoholism is a disease, and by far, two DUI arrests probably qualifies you as a straight up alcoholic. I hope the guy gets some serious help. He needs to get this aspect of his life on track.

Unfortunately for Reed, as an elected official he carries a high burden to respect the rule of law and serve as a role model for his constituents. As of now, he's following through with neither of these responsibilities. It's a shame too, because Reed has long been considered a rising Cleveland politician - so much so as to consider a bid for Mayor against Jane Campbell back in '05. Long story short, it's time for Reed to go.

Jill wrote about Reed on his last go round, and she' probably got plenty of thoughts on his current shenanigans.

Cleveland residents are currently considering whether to recall Joseph Santiago in Cleveland's 14th Ward. Wouldn't be a bad idea to go after Reed too if he doesn't resign. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, afterall.
