An Extra Special Star For An Extra Special Boy

As ModernEsquire rather eloquently pointed out this morning, the Republican bloggers claim this afternoon that people didn't have a right to counsel in criminal proceedings and that only those that could afford lawyers had a right to commit crimes was a bit...how do you say... too much?

Anyways, just a quick update.

As jump23 point out, Naugle and his GOP buddies have scrubbed the post claiming no right to counsel off of Right Angle Blog. Guess they finally read the Bill of Rights...or at least the 6th amendment.

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense.

I suppose RAB originally interpreted "have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense" to be qualified to mean have assistance if you can afford it.

Here's your gold star for the day Matty (and in the future, stick to your faux-econ and straw man arguments).

Morons. Lol.
