Jerid, doesn't this BS "21st century" version of Brown v Board of Ed merit Bill Todd losing his last electoral lifeline?

Salaries

The biggest differential building-to-building has to be teacher salaries. Since that varies greatly, based on experience, how can it be equalized between buildings?

Brown v. Board, What a Crock!

No, not that Brown v. Board of education. You know, the one that was a landmark Supreme Court decision that opened public education to equality regardless of race. That was a great case.

I mean Bill Todd's recently filed Brown v. Board of Education...

Yup, he filed this wonder of a case on Monday. While the complaint isn't online just yet, I do have a little insight as to what the case is about.

Todd's bringing suit against the Columbus School Board because they don't have equal funding at every school, with every pupil, in the district. I'm sure he'll champion this as some civil rights campaign, or some other crock of shit, but just think about the damage this could do to Ohio public schools if his little political campaign litigation gets anywhere close to a win.

All schools would have to expend exactly the same amount of money per student in each school within their district.

If one school made a major investment the previous year and didn't require as much per pupil as the school next door, they'd still have to spend just as much money as all the other schools in the district for fear of a violation. Schools that need more money for infrastructure investments would have their plans delayed for years as they slowly inch along at the pace all the other schools in the district move. Healthy schools that have subsisted on efficient budgets could be inundated with a surplus of cash that they are forced by law to spend.

I don't have to wonder what Todd's intent is here. In politics there are no coincidences. The mere fact that this case is "Brown v. Board of Education" is a clear sign that Todd is intent on the judicial system to whore himself out for shameless publicity. And this is exactly the sort of thing we can expect out of Todd in ANY office...a man intent on abusing whatever resources are afforded to him, with complete disregard to the public consequences, all for personal gain. Damn jerk.

I'll have more on this when I've got the complaint in hand.
