As much as I hate the Democratic Circus I have to confess that I've always been a fan of Senator Dodd. The stuff on service is right on. I just don't get why he can't make a push for that right now in the Senate.

last year. he came across as inspiring, down to earth, and like a guy who just seemed like a hell of a lot of fun to be around. he also told my mom she had beautiful eyes.

Nice work Jerid. There's something I like about Dodd that I can't quite put my finger on. Besides his proposals, which I'm a fan of thus far, he almost seems sincere. Like a real person or something. Keep up the good work; ya really deserved that lobster sandwich.

This interview really shows the potential of the blogs in the upcoming presidential campaigns. Sen. Dodd was able to speak in full paragraphs so that a listener could get a deeper idea about what motivates him to seek the top job. He seemed excited at the opportunity to talk about his Peace Corps experience and how that shaped his life and his policy positions as well. I felt he was genuinely appreciative of your work, Jerid, and as you said, "he 'gets it' " :-)

Remember to keep focused on the Big Picture issues, the conversation got a little gummed up there for a minute, but I would have been very nervous, and you really did great, imo :-) The Senator was very gracious and helped steer the discussion to the broader issue of the 1st Amendment.

I thought his emphasis on Habeas Corpus and the futility and immorality of torture is so important to be heard and has really been ignored by the so-called mainstream media. I liked that he was able to discuss alternative energy, rural issues, and his ideas about internet access mirror Gov Strickland's I think, it was cool to hear about that.

It was an intelligent conversation, it let us get to know the Senator a little better~ so, SO much better than cable news talking heads interviews, and his audience reading BSB really are involved, so it's an important demographic- us! :-)

Can't wait for more! :-)

On Broadband...

I was glad to hear Dodd recognizes that broadband internet access is a way to keep people and jobs from leaving rural areas. I've seen a lot of other people fail to grasp that. Thanks for asking the question Jerid.
