Personal Thanks to the Ohio 'Sphere

I just wanted to throw some quick thanks out to the Ohio 'sphere. Yesterday I got notice from US Scholarships that <strike>I'd </strike>we'd won the 2007 political blogging scholarship. If you're interested, the scholarship page put concession posts, and my small victory post, online here. I can't express how thankful I am to everyone out there in the 'sphere for taking a moment or two to vote for me during the process - without you I wouldn't have won.

PS. I remembered that I should expressly thank Vessels, Jill and Bobono (and everyone else that slipped by). They were pushing my vote pretty hard over at ProgressOhio.

So, with this $2k and some money I'll be raising later, it looks as if I'll be headed to New Hampshire to cover the presidential primary for the duration of the summer. I had a second meeting with folks up in Cleveland about this project last night, and I'll be filling in the rest of y'all as we get closer to April (and as I get my plans firmed up). While I don't have a lot to share on this front just yet, it's interesting to think about the possible implications this could help the Ohio 'sphere have on the Ohio Presidential Primary. While Ohio generally picks Presidents, our state's say in the primary nomination process is minuscule. However, together this summer we might be able to increase Ohio's relevance in the primary a bit.
