20% of Republicans cross over and vote for the Democrat.

The most stunning thing about the poll:

20% of Republicans cross over and vote for the Democrat.

20% of Republicans cross over and vote for the Democrat.

20% of Republicans cross over and vote for the Democrat.

20% of Republicans cross over and vote for the Democrat.

20% of Republicans cross over and vote for the Democrat.

20% of Republicans cross over and vote for the Democrat.

20% of Republicans cross over and vote for the Democrat.

Strickland has 19-point lead on independants. Has nearly 90% of the Democratic vote to Blackwell's 72% of the Republican vote. Strickland leads among men, but within the margin of error, but has a 27-point lead among women.

Absolutely astounding.......

"24 Hours" Analysis debunked

1% Fitrakis (G)

Doesn't look like Strickland is losing progressives and African-Americans after all. With a margin of error of 4.4%, that means Fitrakis actually has -3.4% of support and has half the support of the Liberterian candidate.

Which raises a bigger question: are Liberterians disenfranchised from supporting the Republicans over Ken Blackwell's candidacy? His flip-flop on TEL perhaps?

It means we don't let up. Never underestimate the right wing's ability to smear, slime and lie.

How does this poll tend to slant?

I mean, I'm glad that so far not a single poll has shown Blackwell in the lead. And although I know there's a lot of talk about how popular Blackwell will be in the black community, I have to wonder. I was at the 11 District (Stephanie Tubbs Jones) caucus meeting last night in Cleveland Heights. Crowd probably 80-90% black, with a wide age range, lots of elderly people but lots of younger people too, and a contingent of black ministers seated in the front row. Mentions of Blackwell were greeted with murmurs of disapproval and Greg Groves from the congresswoman's office, who was conducting the meeting, reminded the crowd of a quote from another local activist (I wish I could remember who so I could credit him): "He may be your color, but he's not your kind." There was talk about him trying to take away rights that people in the room could remember not having or their parents not having.

Sweet 16

From the forums, you know what this means right ? -staff

A new Survey USA poll shows Ted up on Ken Blackwell 53% to 37%, with 7% going to other candidates and 3% undecided.

At least we can rest assured that people who work for Ken Blackwell still support him!

Today's Columbus Dispatch contained not one, but two pro-Blackwell letters-to-the-editor. [...] What was odd, however, is that the first letter was written by Andy Shifflette - a current employee of Ken Blackwell's Secretary of State office.

 (Via the Blue Buckeye Blog)

Sherrod Brown is also up on Dewine by 9 points, 48%-39%!
