Countdown to Denver: Day 6
In a mere 6 days, the BSB team will be jetting off to the Mile High City to begin our coverage of the 2008 Democratic National Convention. According to DNCC rules, only one of us (David or myself) will be allowed inside the Pepsi Center or Invesco Field at a time, so whoever is "tagged out" will likely be hanging out in the Big Tent or otherwise scrounging for stories on the streets of Denver.
We are also working on a joint effort with Jeff Coryell of the Ohio Daily Blog called Denver Diaries, where we hope to post our experiences in Denver that are not of a strictly political nature. More on that as we get closer. All that's left now is to speculate who Sen. Obama's VP pick will be. My money is on Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware, who has forgotten more about foreign policy than John McCain will ever know.
Obama Comes Out Swinging?
Finally! I have found NEW respect for the Obama campaign!
I know Americans are tired of negative campaign ads, however there is no denying the experience that negative ads WIN elections.
A LARGE Part of my problem with Obama has been his "taking the high ground" when historically THAT ISN'T how elections are won. Sad BUT TRUE.
My respect for the Clinton's has been because of their ability to WIN and win big against impossible odds.
People don't like negative campaigns but if campaigns had NO negative ads you'd have two squeaky clean good humor man as candidates.
That isn't how it works, that isn't how it will EVER work until people actually get sick of negative ads and REFUSE to respond to them (which they do) Obama goes negative to return fire!
This certainly has become the campaign on "Change" (daily)!
Poll Numbers Are Bad News for the Obama Campaign
Reminds me of some of my favorite oldies and thank God there is time to vote for Hillary!
The fact that Obama is just NOW learning how to WIN a campaign...makes him the weaker candidate. Politics are not for the faint of heart....and if it has taken Obama THIS long to do something besides fan the flames of a personality cult, how will he do when in serious conflict with world leaders that will not respond to charisma?
Winning a nomination (which Obama has NOT secured) is completely different than winning an election.

Things That Make You Go Hummmm
Things that make you go huh?
If you don't like the democratic process...just CHANGE it!
Washington Post
Democratic Party Obama Looking to Diminish Superdelegates By Dan Balz Barack Obama's campaign will call next week for the creation of a new commission to revise the rules for selecting a presidential nominee in 2012 with a goal of reducing the power of superdelegates, whose role became a major point of contention during the long battle between Obama and Hillary Clinton.
Talk about trying to c-block the the competition.....there must be something the Obama campaign knows that we don't...
Bad poll numbers and buyers remorse
Oh, that he might get got his hat handed to him at the convention?
Hummmm......
