College Version of Fox News is Also "Fair and Balanced" Wink Wink

Fox News has invested heavily in palestra.net, a "college network" based in Columbus. Like their sugar daddy, palestra.net is definitely "fair" and "balanced." Too bad their "reporting" has been like an ORP press release by way of Anchorman.

Here are a few very important things I learned this week from Fox News' own Ohio-based mini-me, palestra.net.

1. Everyone accused of voter fraud is black.

2. Everyone worried about voter fraud is white.

3. All elections experts are white.

4. All college students are white.

5. If you say the word "homeless" your b-roll has to show a black man.

6. If you say "set up to protect liberty" your b-roll has to show a sheriff's officer standing over a young black man.

7. Oh, yeah, the Buckeye Institute is a non-partisan think-tank.

It's hard to believe, but after suffering through every one of their videos about voting in Ohio, there is a frightening racial overtone to the network's reporting. Of course, a quick peek at who works at palestra.net might explain the, ahem, "bias" in their reporting. They list 21 staff on their website – and 1 person isn't white.

Here's to you, mini-Fox News. We'll be keeping an eye on you. If you want to see my notes from watching their video, it's available after the jump.

I think it is obvious that there are many dimensions as to why Fox does and says what it does. One of those dimensions is throwing red meat to their audience. That is part of their game.

I remember shortly after the primarys

a republican called into The Indepenent, Massillon On the Line comments section and bragged about how he and his republican buddies lied to the poll workers about their party affiliation so they could vote for Hillary Clinton. that republican cheat and braggart certainly causes me to wonder.
