CNN gets Jefferson County voting story wrong

CNN reports that voters in Jefferson County can vote any time during the next 10 days due to the flooding problems.  This is innaccurate according to the SOS office.  BSB called the SOS office to clarify.

Voters in Jefferson County may vote provisionally at the Jefferson County BOE today ONLY, and have 10 days to prove their identification at the BOE.  Provisional ballots are cast by voters if, among other reasons, they are voting in the wrong precinct, which most voters in Jefferson County who vote at the BOE will be doing.    The provisional ballot still needs to be checked against voting records. Voters will have the right to prove their residence over the next 10 days.

From my understanding of provisional voting rules, the BOE will make the residence check anyway, so it's not clear to me why a voter would need to return in the next 10 days, other than to make absolutely certain the BOE doesn't make a mistake on the provisional residence check.

Either way, CNN is wrong.  If you vote this way in Jefferson County, you can only vote in this manner TODAY.
