Can we look to a God instead of a john?
Can we look to a God instead of a john?
As a love that has matured into a marriage, Organized Labor agreements are the recognized, legal bond of labor, capital, and material/objects in a progressive continuum that is mutually beneficial to all parties involved and to the immediate community as well as the larger society in general.
The deregulation and liberalization of trade and international investment is like dissolving marriage contracts, creating disillusionments or perhaps more correct, creating a forum for one night stands and outright prostitution.
The race to the bottom is literally a moral decision on an individual basis.
A whore, for need of money, will engage in sexual transactions if a john is present and is provided an environment to create the illicit business deal.
Johns frequently shop for price by lowballin the whore just before engagement.
Government is created to protect its citizens and to assist its people in improving their livelihood.
Governments are not created to provide protection and environments that promote immoral and illicit business transactions.
If you don’t believe in government don’t run for office!
Oh yeah, don’t forget condoms like NAFTA or GATT so that the transactions can happen with a certain amount of estrangement, without anyone able to police the immorality.
Sex slaves, child labor, littering…no problem, just leave your trash in our neighborhood and drive away.
No one suffers the effects of your lust except the hooker, the neighborhood you engage your selfishness in and humankind overall.
We venture deeper into the darkness and like an immature addict we create logical excuses as our weakness, our sins, engulf more and more of who we are.
Oh yeah, this is our sickness.
You could distance yourself from the immorality by making a statement like this one from economist Robin Hahnel,
Third World peasants and workers do not enjoy the beneficial effect one might otherwise expect from increased international investment and specialization in labor intensive manufacturing in their countries. -Yeah, that sounds innocent and businesslike.
Or this,
By strengthening the bargaining power of global capital versus any and all with whom it negotiates, liberalization of trade and investment leads to downward pressure on wages, labor standards, and environmental standards in First World and Third World countries.
How does this sound?
Looking into our Armageddon why didn’t we try something that increases morality and living standards; the wonderfully beneficial effects of legal, recognized Organized Labor agreements?
Can we look to a God in the concepts of Organized Labor, instead of a john?
