Can Obama Win Ohio - Yes he Can

In the "off the record" section of Columbus On the Record this weekend, Cathy Candisky of the Dispatch predicted that Obama cannot win Ohio, but he can the presidency without us.

I think Zanesville (and more events like it), the move to the center, and the Governor's political team setting their sights on November mean he can and will win Ohio.

Since about the day after Aaron Pickrell took the Ohio campaign helm in Ohio, resources have been flowing into the state.  There's been a mini-exodus of top, young political and policy talent making the move to the hustings from the private sector and Capitol Square.  There are dozens of people in the field - these guys mean business.

If there's any question whether or not the Clintonistas are through their stages of grief, look at the Ohio team as they begin moving the state from purple to blue.

I don't go to the store very often, but I was there with my wife the other day and noticed a loaf of bread that used to be less than a buck cost $2.49.  WTF?  I've lived and worked in Appalachian Ohio and it's a different place.  Yellow dogs, blue dogs, they're all there.  These dogs, like the rest of us are licking their economic wounds.  McCain has nothing to offer but more of the same.

Obama needs to let them know that the economy will begin rewarding the working class and not just the investment class.  He needs to let them know that a revamped tax structure will offer the first real middle class breaks in years.  He needs to be honest about the energy long emergency facing this country and tell them how he's going to lead us out of it.

Obama can win it at the kitchen table.  What do you think?
