Thank you Rep. Zach Space

Rep. Space voted to protect our security and civil liberties by supporting H.R. 3773, the Conyers and Reyes Admendment. My understanding is that the Admendment strips retro-active immunity for Telecoms related to domestic spying from a House bill.

The Democratic Leadership showed courage standing up to President Bush and special interests to bring this Admendment to a vote. Ohio's House members voted along Party lines. Thank you House Dems for standing up for the rule of law and civil liberties.

In a January letter to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, 21 Blue Dog Coalition members made it known they supported granting immunity to the telecoms, and urged Pelosi to move quickly to pass the Senate version of the bill. Rep. Zach Space was one of the Blue Dogs to sign this letter.
