Call Ohio GOP Chairman Bobby Bennett And Urge Him To Resign

Earlier today Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner called on all members of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections to resign their posts due to incompetence managing elections over the past few years in the Cleveland region. Actions like this would have been taken earlier, but for the past four years Secretary Blackwell was too busy planning his Gubernatorial suicide march to actually provide oversight for Cuyahoga County's elections. Now SoS Brunner has been forced to clean up the mess in Cuyahoga County.
Who can blame Brunner for being forced into this call - when the Cuyahoga County BoE can't manage elections better than a drunk 12 year old huffing paint-thinner something needs to be done. That something is the call for the resignation of two Democrats and two Republicans from the board. One Republican board member, Ohio GOP Party Chairman Bob Bennett, is crying boo hoo hoo. He thinks that the Secretary Brunner should exhibit a little more forgiveness for the the Board. Afterall, the Board's only had two employees convicted of voter fraud, experienced problems designing ballots, a five day delay in counting votes following an election, and a whole litany of other issues.
Secretary Brunner has also suggested GOP Chairman Bennett may bring suit to protect his seat:
Brunner said that Bennett suggested he would not go without a legal fight. "I was a judge. Litigation doesn't faze me," she said. "I really prefer to just move on to allow the board to proceed without that complication."
If you call Bob, remember to stay friendly and polite, but encourage him to step away from the Board that desperately needs fresh, competent, bipartisan leadership.Call GOP Chairman Bennett's Columbus Home Line: (614) 228-6636

Haven't been over at the ole GOP blog for a while, but no worries ... the torrid pace of posting over there is reminicent of snails.
Its also interesting to see the dozens of people who comment over on that blog. Really speaking to the grassroots of Ohio, our friends at the GOP.
And then there was this:
I believe the Secretary of State has hit the wrong target in her attempt to make corrections in Cuyahoga County.
The first and most pressing wrong is the unfair treatment of Jacqui Maiden and Kathy Dreamer, two excellent Board employees who were sentenced to prison terms for what amounts to a question over procedure.
I must admit I haven't followed that case very closely but doesn't is wording sound like the neo-con crowd in DC who when a Republican is under attack (read: Scooter Libby) it's all about the excuses: no underlying crime, criminalizaton of politics, etc

Is not Cleveland, he should step down because he is in the wrong county.
