BSB Going to Denver

Nick D - Posted on 30 May 2008

Last night, the Democratic National Convention Committee issued a press release listing all the blogs that will be credentialed for the August 25-28 convention in Denver, CO. I'm proud to announce that Buckeye State Blog was credentialed and we will be making arrangements to attend the convention.

However, the story of how Buckeye State Blog amongst others was passed over for the State Blogger Corps refuses to die, and has appeared in the Washington Post and Wired Magazine. The Washington Post story confirms that only state blogger corps blogs will be seated on the floor of the convention with their state delegations, and have full time access to the convention floor. Many of those passed over for the state blogger corps (including BSB) believe that this access is pretty much the whole point of going, and continue to be upset about not receiving it.

In the future, the DNC should stick to its selection criteria and give all bloggers the same access. I'll make sure to tell Howard Dean that personally in Denver :)
