BSB Breaking: North Olmstead Mayor Entering 10th District Race Thursday

Y'all heard it here first.

From a reliable source, Mayor Tom O'Grady of North Olmstead is set to jump into the 10th Congressional District race this Thursday. More information will be posted as it comes to me. Apparently this weekend several deals were struck in the 10th District. O'Grady's bid may be announced this week due to that situation. O'Grady's no stranger to the blogs, having commented over at PoliticalScience216, so we'd love to have his comments or statements on this thread.

And on another interesting note, to the best of my knowledge, Dennis Kucinich has still yet to file his petitions to run for re-election.  I've heard plenty of conjecture - and the implications this could cause - on this one.

Also, this past week I missed out on a major part of the 10th District developments when Brent Larkin's column came out with the PeeDee over the Thanksgiving weekend. There's another name emergin in this race:

Should Kucinich not run, it would probably ignite a wild scramble for his job involving as many as a half-dozen Democrats. Six or seven members of Cleveland City Council probably view themselves as congressional material, as do a dozen or so suburban mayors and some state legislators. But a more likely scenario would be for Kucinich to time his announcement in a way designed to benefit the person many believe he would favor as a successor, State Rep. Michael Skindell.

Interesting stuff. Mark my words, if Dennis retires this will be the most crowded and interesting primary in Ohio. Heck, I might just camp out at the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections on January 3rd. We'll see.
