Bringing In the Bling: FEC Update #3
And we've got some more numbers piling in to come with our earlier FEC update.

I know that's a long list, and not the friendliest on the eyes. So a few quick points.
OH-15
Kilroy. Kilroy. What to say about Mary Jo?
How about a DAMN GIRL, you go! (*snap snap). Mary Jo Kilroy raised $342,423 in one cycle. OMG. I've never seen anyone raise that much. I'm working on getting access to CQ tonight just to find out if MJK raised more money than anyone in the nation. She beat the Minority Leader. I'm curious how she stacks up against Pelosi's take.
That said, Mary Jo is campaining as an incumbent. It's never been clearer than looking at the breakdown of her take. Sure, she raised over $200k+ from individual donors, but as a non-incumbent she pulled in over $134k from PAC money. I think Doug Priesse will be looking at this total tonight, and pour himself a hard drink. The GOP is done is the 15th.
OH-02
Yet again, Steve Black and Vic Wulsin matched each other tit for tat in fundraising. Wulsin led this cycle and last in fundraising amongst all candidates in OH-02 (both GOP and DEM) and she continues to grow her lead over her primary opponent. Still, both Black and Wulsin have more than enough cash on hand to start a formidable run against Mean Jean. Long story short, OH-02 is definitely back on the map for the '08 cycle.
OH-16
Last FEC quarter Kirk Schurring, the front runner in the GOP primary to succeed Ralph Regula, reported lackluster finance numbers. This cycle his numbers are even worse. While Schurring brought in $57k, he spent almost all but $20k of that. Schurring isn't raising money like a top tier challenger. Perhaps the GOP is starting to experience buyer's remorse.
Boccieri brought in roughly twice as much as his Republican opponent. Looking through John's report, there's plenty of familiar names from last year's gubernatorial election. The Governor, and his former campaign team's, presence in this race is beginning to become quite apparent. If I had to take a guess, I'd say that Strickland is more committed to getting John Boccieri into Congress than any other race in Ohio right now. That's good news for John.
OH-01
Stevie Chabot's yet to file his October FEC report, but it's safe to say his staffers are keeping an eye on Rep. Driehaus at this point in the game. Driehaus continues to break into six digits. It's going to be another race in the first.
