Bringing In the Bling: FEC Update #1

Holla! Time for our quarterly game of try and publish the FEC numbers before our friends at the papers do, and then speculate better than they can about what all this money nonsense means. Today's the deadline for the October quarterly filing (however, our friends in OH-05 have a few extra days considering the fact they've got a primary in a few days and all). Anyway, here's our first update of the day.

Interesting things to note so far:

OH-10
Barbara Ferris in OH-10 might want to return the $250 she got from "American Hauling and Paving, Inc." because as much as you might really really think American Hauling and Paving deserve to use their political voice* in the fight for OH-10...well, accepting contributions from corporations is illegal.

OH-14
Kudos go out to Steven LaTourette in OH-14 for raising close to $120,000. Too bad he was only able to get about $12,000 of that from actual people. Yes, you heard that right. LaTourette's number's lie. All in all, Stevie could only find 17 regular people to give to his campaign...everything else was PAC money. And he burnt through about half of what he raised! That's the sign of a lazy fundraiser. Is he retiring too or something. Har.

Kudos go  out, for real, to Bill O'Neill for raising over $80,000 from hundreds of regular folks...not an elitist group of 17 folks.

OH-07
Dave Woolever has $675 cash on hand. Yes, you read that right. While that could buy a whole lot of pizza, I don't know if it's going to put us into the game. We really need a top tier challenger in this open district.

...More in a few.
