However, because the RNC continues to outraise the DNC, the Obama+DNC total of $72 million cash on hand is short of the McCain+RNC cash on hand total of close to $100 million cash on hand.
While Barack can make up some of that difference, I'd say either the DNC isn't doing a very good job of fundraising, or else they are spending a little to freely right now.

At the beginning of June, the DNC had only $4,000,000 COH. The RNC was saving their money in anticipation of using it in the general while the DNC was spending their money towards Howard Dean's 50 state strategy. It should be noted that the DSCC and DCCC have an enormous COH advantage over their Republican conterparts, and the RNC is virtually abandoning any hope of taking over either branch of Congress.
