Bob Bennett stands alone...

According to Openers, the other Republican member of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections has resigned rather than face the complaint filed against the Board members by Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner.  Now Bob Bennett, GOP Chairman/Cuyahoga Cnty. BOE Chairman, stands alone.

Incidentially, aren't these resignations implicitly a concession by the three resigning board members as to the validity of Brunner's complaint?  In a matter of weeks, Bennett has gone from have the entire board unified to fight Brunner to resigning.  The only thing that's happened in the meantime is the public filing of her complaint?  When the rest of the Board has essentially said, I'm getting out the way because it's not worth fighting this, what does Bob say?  That the complaint is frivilous?  Is that why the rest of the Board is already gone?

RAB has commented:

After the problems the Cuyhoga County BOE has had, I hope its new leadership cleans up their mess.

But has not, unlike Scott Pullins, explicitly come out and said that Bob Bennett should resign, too.

Bob, why put the taxpayers of Ohio through the expense of a hearing just because you don't want to give up your lil' corner of your political fiefdom?  The case and evidence against the Board is strong and removal is just.  Do the honorable thing and resign and save the taxpayers of Ohio the ridiculous exercise of having to prove the obvious: that under your leadership you ran the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections into the ground almost as badly as your party's leadership has done to Ohio.

RESIGN BOB!
