BizzyBlog: Sarah Palin opposes drilling in ANWR, supports redistribution of wealth, and opposes MLK, Jr.'s legacy

Tom Blumer has completely lost whatever was left of his rational mind.

He's beginning a "campaign" called the HOPE ON Callout Campaign which is nothing more taking something that is politically unpopular in a given Democratic candidate's district that Obama supports and conflating that the Democratic candidate must also support Obama's position on that contraversial issue as well.

Today, Bizzyblog took the ridiculous argument construct to Second Congressional Democratic Candidate Steve Driehaus to suggest that he is really Pro-Choice, even though Driehaus is, and always has been, Pro-Life.

Tom Blumer's sole basis for the charge was because Driehaus supports Barack Obama for President:

Steve Driehaus cannot claim to be pro-life, or for that matter “not wildly liberal” (though I will not cover that here), while endorsing Obama.

The problem with straw man arguments, Tommy, is that they're fine so long as you aren't the straw man.   You see, ol' Modern has a heck of a memory.  And I won't let you unfairly smear Driehaus a week before the election by falsely stating Driehaus' position on abortion, no matter how much I personally disagree with it.

In 2006, you supported Joe Lieberman in his Independent bid for re-election.  While one post will do, there are plenty of others as well to document that fact.

Maybe you didn't know this about Mr. Lieberman, but he's pro-choice.  Which means by your own standard, you, sir, cannot claim to be pro-life or "not wildly liberal," either, if you apply the same standard to yourself.

By your excuse of an argument thirsting for logic then, that means that Sarah Palin now opposes drilling in ANWR, supports a progressive tax that redistributes wealth to people who pay no personal income taxes so they can buy health insurance, and opposes making Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday a federal holiday since she supports John McCain for President (in fact, the argument seem to be more sound when applied to a politician actually running on the same ticket as their endorsed Presidential candidate.)  Sarah Palin believes that illegal immigrants should be given amnesty and that McCain-Feingold is one of the greatest pieces of legislation in recent American politics.

This would also apply to John Boehner, Mike Turner, Steve Chabot, Jean Schmidt, Steve Stivers, and every other Republican candidate for Congress.  They all support amnesty for illegal immigrants, oppose ethanol, and the most recent farm bill.  The entire GOP ticket this fall supports McCain's efforts to limit what third-parties can do in elections, how much money can be spent in a race, and how much individuals can financially participate in American elections.

If that's the standard you are applying to our candidates, then be prepared to defend your own.

Which means your party's candidates support charging rape victims for their rape kits, too, pal.
