Barack's statement on his pastor - next step, big speech please

Just read Barack's post at HuffPost on PastorGate.  It's a good statement.  But I think this is an opportunity for Barack to show real leadership, contrast with Hillary and McCain, and come out of this thing stronger than he went into it.

It's time for that big speech on race, Barack.  You knew going into this race that all the deepest, darkest ghosts of our country's past racial divisions would have to be encountered, battled, and in the end, defeated, if you were to be president.  It's happened over and over again this election, and it's gonna keep happening.  This is an opportunity for you to show just how much unifying power you can bring to bear on the presidency.

Go to Selma.  Or go to Ellis Island.  Someplace that speaks to American struggle, hope, and promise.  And talk about your relationship with this man in the same way every one of us has a relationship with someone we love, despite their flaws.  Talk about how it breaks your heart when they let you down like this.  And talk about how your entire life, you've tried so hard to get your loved ones to overcome the darker angels of our nature.

And then fire this man from your campaign.

Such a speech gives you the opportunity to be utterly different from your opponents, showing courage, decisiveness, compassion, and a real sense of what truly needs to happen for America to unite and move forward.  Don't miss the opportunity.  Leadership is rare.  Opportunities to show leadership like this one are even rarer.

Seize this day, Barack.
