P.S. (including Howard Dean's birthday comment)

Do check out her site

I'd never heard of her before finding out that she would be speaking at my church, but she sounds fascinating. Sadly, I won't be able to attend, but I hope others take advantage of the opportunity. On a different note (while I have your attention) if you would like to share ideas about celebrating Howard Dean's birthday on the 17th, go here and click on the Birthday Flat Howard.

Sister Helen Prejean

Susan Sarandon played her in the movie Dead Man Walking. Sister Helen has been interviewed (mostly during a book tour) on NPR and other places. I was impressed when I heard her.

I'll try to go -- but we usually make a family dinner to take to my mother in her nursing home on Sunday nights -- maybe we can have it earlier than usual. If I get there, I'll report on it.

Dead Man Walking movie theme song . . .

. . . is by Springsteen.

Making an impression

I heard Prejean speak several years ago. It would be great if people were persuaded enough by her talk to contact the new Governor and new Attorney General, both who support the death penalty & will be executing people soon enough.
