Arlen Specter Is Feeling Blue Today

It’s a good thing I left my Sestek for Senate T-shirt in the car, because I didn’t miss Arlen Specter after all.

I admit that I was just waiting to here him try to talk his way out of his stance on card check in front of this crowd, but he did pretty well.

Specter surprised me by taking multiple progressive leaning positions. For example:

• He strongly believes there should be a public option. He even talked about bringing up single payer again.
• He said he believes a version of the Employee Free Choice Act he supports will come up soon, and include fair ways to establish a union and punishments for employers who break the rules.

But let’s be honest, I’m not sure I believed any of it. But hey, thanks for showing up Arlen, I’ll pass judgment after you vote on things.
