Any Y'all Paying Attention To This Grade-A Gay Bashin' Goin Down Next Door? Yeehaw, Get Yer Pitchforks!
I've just got to pull a few quotes from our Republican associates next door. Recently the Franklin County GOP nominated a gay man, Bill Brownson, for Council. Since then, Republicans online have been dealing with their internal conflicts over homosexuality. Frankly, it's been delicious to watch. So much hate on one small blog.
All of these quotes are by the same author who is generally considered the voice for the online Ohio Republican movement (sorry Dole, I'm not referencing you).
Brownson’s orientation, by itself, doesn’t concern me.
juxtaposed against an earlier post where he said:
...it should concern all Franklin County Republicans that he is so open about his immoral lifestyle.
If we were in a cartoon, Scooby would be giving this face about now:
You know, some wildly out of place clues just made the ears go all pointy and shit. That's kind of how my ears are right now actually, as I read this great quote that boils everything I need to know about the Republican Party and homosexuals into 16 succinct words. C'mon, one more time for effect...
It really is a shame he is so open about his immoral lifestyle.
Obviously the Republicans aren't concerned about Brownson's sexuality...just as long as everyone knows that said sexuality is (in their opinion) IMMORAL. These guys crack me up (it'd be even funnier if they didn't actually have any power. However, that makes it kinda sad-funny). Here's some more of the Republicans comments, for pure comedic value...
We are all imperfect sinners- But the point is that Brownson has no interest in redemption. And it is a serious problem when the GOP- supposedly the party of traditional values and conservatism- supports a candidate who, instead of seeking guidance from God or help from secular counseling to overcome his perversion, openly talks about his unhealthy, promiscuous sexual behavior and endorses it. What sort of example does that send to young children? And what message is the Franklin County GOP sending to their core voters when they show contempt for their base, and support a candidate who is openly hostile to their base’s core principles?
Remember, the Republican Party is the party that wants to let you make your own personal decisions. Control your own finances. Defend Yourself. Voice Your Own Sexuality. Protect the first amendment. Look after your own body.
Silly, apparently you can't have it all. It's posts like these that make me think some of these guys would get along pretty well with the Taliban.

the level of bile coming out of Naugle et. al. over anything to do with sex SCREAMS Ted Haggard. (i bet haggard screamed, too - badum, bum)
anyone ever run into Naugle on the down low? anyone got odds on whether Naugle is a top or a bottom?
as for Brownson, why on earth would Brownson ever stay in the GOP, when Naugle et al literally say, on a daily basis, that he is a sinner who will go to hell and should die for his sins? to put up with that kind of hate, to (bizarrely) attempt to start a political career, is really indicative of some kind of problem. same problem it appears that Naugle has.
I hereby challenge Matty to produce a girl he's slept with (well he's probably abstinence only) so at least a girl he's kissed (willingly). I don't really care if he's gay, but it sure sounds like he's a closet case to me.
This was one of the most disturbing posts I've ever read.
Secular counseling?
Wonder if Matt knows anyone good (maybe he and Phil Buress can chat about it together).
I think after reading this I understand the pissed off tortured nature of him
He just really really needs to get laid. Here's hoping that Matt can find a girl (or boy) willing to look through the rage and self loathing (not to mention gay bashing) persona and find the gentle, kind loving soul underneath.
Anyone know where I can get a copy of the 40-year-old Virgin?
But I think I finally figured it out. Matt doesn't care if you're gay, just don't talk about it. In fact, cover it up with a trophy wife. So that's the real key for the Defense of Marriage crowd. Just marry a woman, that way people won't ask uncomfortable questions, and our crowd (see: Phil Burress) won't have to face our own lack of confidence in our sexuality.
Well at least we know the bounds of their hypocracy.
we know you kissed a jaywalker in high school. admit your sin, seek help from Phil Burress, and change you life to live in God's path.
I remember way back Matt talking about a piece of direct mail from some firm being racist. I thought it was weird because the piece won an award and it was a Republican firm, which I thought Naugs would love. But he brings up race, and specifically lambasts "racist" communications, but writes this crap. Now I realize that being gay isn't being black, or white, or chinese, but aren't you born gay?
Oh wait, "secular counseling". Right. Let's fix the choice.
Boy I wish they spent as much time blasting those who make really harmful personal decisions, like pedophiles, or murderers, or people who lie entire countries into war.
Oh wait.... he's right. Two people consensually doing whatever it is they are doing in the privacy of their own home (or nightclub) will bring down society as a whole. Because they'll start breeding more people who will make the choice to be gay and then... oh yeah... no they won't.
But, maybe they'll adopt kids. NAUGLE!! ACTION ALERT!! Stop gays from adopting and convincing a whole generation of people to have relationships with people of their choosing. Watch this'll be Buress's next act, after defeating the strippers.
