Another Right Winger Tries to Use a 7-year-old Conviction to Discredit Tim Russo

When you can't attack the argument, attack the one making it.

That's what K. Daniel Glover of the right-wing media organization NewsBusters is trying to do with this article.

There's no doubt that Tim Russo committed a serious crime seven years ago. But there's also no doubt that Tim has paid his debt to society. How do I know that? Because a judge elected by the people of the jurisdiction where the crime was committed - Cuyahoga County, Ohio - said so. Ultimately judges are the ones responsible for determining what a criminals' debt to society should be.  Once that debt is fulfilled, that's it. The person goes on with their life.

But, since Tim is very vocal with his liberal views, and insists on exercising his right to free speech, there are some on the right who have taken it upon themselves to act as judge, jury and executioner, in order to extract an additional debt from Tim. And, quite frankly, I'm f*&$%ing tired of it.

Tim has produced what, in my opinion, is the video that defines this election. He didn't make those people say the things they said.  He didn't Vulcan mind meld with them to make them spit out ignorant, racist paranoia. They did it all by themselves. To a guy holding a camera in the age of YouTube. They had to know it would end up online in a heartbeat. Do the right wingers really think some old muck dredged up from the cameraman's past can negate the racist garbage flowing freely from the mouths of McCain supporters attending a rally in an affluent, totally NON-ELITIST, suburb? Come on.

Tell us those people don't represent all McCain supporters. Tell us its just misdirected anger at the the complete ass-whipping the GOP is going to take in a few weeks. When you decide to attack the cameraman, it comes across as pathetic finger pointing.

And, to all the right wingers like Matt Naugle who don't think Tim has paid enough for his crime, I have a suggestion for you. Go to law school, move to Cuyahoga County, and run against the judge who sentenced him.  And, for once, because I know its hard for you GOPers, try attacking the argument, instead of the person making it.
