A Little Help For BSB - Toss a Buckeye At New Hampshire

A week or two ago, Cindy posted information about a political blogger scholarship available to students on her site As Ohio Goes. After I had an interesting meting Saturday night about my summer job propsects, I went off on a whim yesterday and applied for the scholarship to finance a potential project people have suggested to me for my summer. In the interest of brevity, I'll let you just read the essay/blog post (I was limited to 300 words, and I had to describe BSB) I wrote for the scholarship. I'll have more on the concept behind this project tomorrow morning...but I would appreciate it if you (and your friends and family) would consider voting for me for this scholarship...and for the project.

More later...

Howdy, I’m Jerid and I administer Ohio’s largest political community site “The Buckeye State Blog” (BSB). In between blogging and harassing the Ohio Republican Party, I’m a student at Case Western Reserve University Law School in the Midwest’s #1 vacation destination, Cleveland, Ohio. If voters choose me for this scholarship I’ll spend the funds knocking around New Hampshire this summer, reporting live on the lead-up to the nation’s most important presidential primary.

In Ohio we've transformed the Internet into the wild wild west of the political frontier. This past election cycle posters at BSB regularly broke statewide news that helped bring about Ohio's first Democratic Governor in 16 years, fought for transparency in the Ohio Democratic Party (with a few swipes at the party thrown in for giggles), and drove out a gay baiting democratic incumbent from the state legislature. In 2008 it's not a matter of if bloggers will have an impact on the presidential race; the question is how much we're going to accomplish.

Enter New Hampshire - three months of Ma’ and Pa’ diners and candidate meetups during the nation’s most exciting political carnival, watching and reporting on prezzie candidates like a hawk. Forget C-Span, we’ll break things first – just like we’ve done at BSB. With your help I’m going there, and we’re gonna get the goods from staffers who talk to much (“C’mon Stevie, dontcha wanna be on the blog?”), people that underestimate us, and those that are foolish enough to assume no one’s watching. Strap in and use the little voter-ma-jigger applet to send me on my way. We’re going to have some fun.

Thanks for your help. This New Hampshire project would be totally dependent on my ability to finance it - I'll have more on all of this tomorrow morning.

Once again, please toss a vote my way.

Pimped at PO

votes for points.

Shameless

attempt to get people interested in this post.

Done...

...and done.

Thanks

nzbobster. I appreciate it.

Commanding lead...

With the addition of my vote, NBC News now projects that Jerid Kurtz will win!

71%

Lookin' good.

I assume

that whoever votes for you the most times gets to accompany you on this fact finding mission to New England on some one elses dime. That's a correct assumption based on facts, right?

Good luck

You got my vote. Good luck. One hopes that "Jerid" will soon be associated with political blogging kick-assedness instead of some guy who lost weight by eating at Subway.

...

I can't stand that guy...and the "Galleria of Jewlery" commercials get me going too.
Sorry, personal preference.

I think we broke it...

After I voted, it showed me the current results: (D) Jerid Kurtz : 21370% of all votes
